Custom Art by Caitlin Dundon
The Souls Project
Help an Artist. Help Seattle Schools.

My name is Caitlin Dundon, I am a Seattle painter, calligrapher and writer. I create paintings with my own calligraphy. I also teach calligraphy classes and have been disappointed to hear that many area schools are no longer teaching cursive writing - and some have had to cut their art curriculum. I'd like to be able to donate money to Seattle Public Schools to help increase their arts programs, as I know it's the first thing being cut which to me is the soul of childhood - being able to create and make art was one of the best parts of my childhood.

I took two months and collected donations from customers and friends for Phase I of the project. Although I only raised $260, with some of my own money I was able to get a short run of this poster printed and have started selling it at Venue in Ballard and on my website. Buy it now. For this initial printing of 1,000 posters I am donating 20% of the sale of each poster to Seattle Public Schools. Please spread the word. I'd love to give Seattle Schools a nice donation.

I don't know what the impact will be. I've always wanted to help support my local schools and give back to the community, but having a limited income as an artist has always made it incredibly hard. When you start talking about soul - it is everyone's soul that I hope will be affected by this project - it's the words on the paintings I have created, it's the colors of the paint, it's the heart and soul that I put into every piece I create. But it's also the little souls that will get to blossom and grow through art programs in their schools.
